• Departing from convenient locations, travel in an air-conditioned, 4x4 van, inland from Wailua, past Opaekaa Falls and Sloggett Reservoir to the Keahau Arboretum.
• The trail crosses streams and winds through the dense forest to the “gate” used in the Jurassic Park movie.
• There we park and have an easy half hour stroll past wild flowers and gorgeous vistas to the “Blue Hole” area, just 2 miles downstream from the base of Mt. Waialeale. Here is where water was first diverted into the irrigation system of Lihue Plantation.
• This is a great opportunity to learn about the history and culture of Hawaii from experienced guides in a breathtaking natural environment.
